We're a community of pet lovers, volunteers, and advocates working together to keep families and their animals together in Lincoln, Nebraska.
402 NonPAWfit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Lincoln, Nebraska. We believe most pets enter shelters not because families stopped loving them β but because they couldn't afford a vet bill. A $25 vaccine prevents a $2,000 emergency. We're here to close that gap.
Meredith has been a veterinarian since graduating in 2011 from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Aside from her love for animals, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being involved in anything her three nephews and niece take part in, tending to her indoor plants, and watching movies.
Meredith's most loyal companion, Maple (aka Baby Mapes), is a little 13-year-old yorkie mix who she adores. Meredith's passion for animals and desire to serve helped create 402 NonPAWfit, and she is very excited to help the pets in her community in any way she can.
Colleen is a lifelong caregiver who's spent her entire life working in nursing homes, veterinary clinics, and home health care for people and pets β so looking after people and animals isn't just a job, it's who she is.
She brings that heart to 402 NonPAWfit, where she helps pets and families feel supported, understood, and genuinely cared for.
At home with husband Jason, grown kids Spencer and Sammi, silly poodle Cookie, cats Fergie and Zeppelin, and houseplants she's always trying to rescue, Colleen is a diehard lover of all living things who just can't stand to see anything suffer. πΏπ
Micala is a wife and mother of three. She has spent a large amount of her time in the nonprofit world, working for the YWCA Omaha and volunteering with various nonprofit organizations on their boards and in the community.
Micala holds a degree in elementary and middle school education. Currently she homeschools her three children and spends her spare time shuttling them to all of their activities and cheering them on!
Micala currently works serving people with developmental disabilities as a shared living provider. She is excited to work with 402 NonPAWfit because she is passionate about helping people get access to the necessary services to take care of their family.
Jason Reed is an 8th Degree Black Belt Grand Master, entrepreneur, and community builder based in Lincoln, Nebraska. He co-owns two Tiger Rock Martial Arts academies, operates Reed's Cleaning β a family window and commercial cleaning business founded in 1978 β and is the founder of the Black Belt Training Club, an online coaching and accountability community for serious adults who want more out of life.
He serves as Vice President of 402NonPAWfit, bringing the same discipline and systems-thinking that built his businesses to the mission of serving animals and the people who love them in the Lincoln community.
Jason has been married to his beautiful wife Colleen for nearly 20 years. Together they are proud parents of Spencer (25) and Sammi (21) β and the real bosses of the house: Cookie the dog, Zeppelin the cat (named by Spencer after his favorite band), and Fergie the cat (named by Sammi after Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas).
